Frequently asked questions
How is WPM calculated?
The standard formula: every five correct characters counts as one word, divided by the elapsed minutes. DO101 shows both net WPM (correct characters only) and raw CPM.
What is a good typing speed?
Around 40 WPM is average for adults, 60–70 WPM is fast, and above 100 WPM is genuinely rare. Accuracy above 95% matters more than raw speed for real work.
Do I need an account?
No. Your best score is saved in your own browser with localStorage and never sent to DO101.
