Meeting Notes to Action Items

Turn meeting notes or a transcript into tasks, owners, deadlines and a follow-up email.

Works with Zoom, Teams and Google Meet transcripts (.vtt), plain minutes, and English or Japanese. Read in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

How this works, and what it cannot do

Each sentence is checked against plain rules: is it marked (“Action:”, “TODO”, a checkbox), does someone commit (“I’ll send…”, “〜します”), ask (“can you…”, “please…”, “〜お願いします”), or record a decision (“we agreed…”). Owners come from who spoke, who was named or @mentioned, and deadlines from phrases like “by Friday”, “EOD” or “明日まで”. Open “Why this was picked out” on any row to see the rule.

It is not AI, so it runs instantly, free, and without your notes leaving the browser. The trade-off: it will miss tasks phrased in ways it has no rule for, and occasionally pick up a sentence that only sounds like a task. Everything is editable before you download it, and you can add rows by hand.

Private by design. This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your input is processed on your own device and is not uploaded by DO101.

About the Meeting Notes to Action Items

Paste your meeting notes or a Zoom, Teams or Google Meet transcript and get back the action items — who is doing what, and by when — plus the decisions made and the questions still open. Owners are worked out from who spoke and who was asked, deadlines from phrases like "by Friday" or "明日まで", and every result shows the sentence it came from. Edit anything, then download an Excel tracker, Word minutes, a calendar file of the deadlines, or copy a ready-made follow-up email. It runs entirely in your browser with no AI service and nothing uploaded.

How to use it

  1. 1Paste your notes or transcript, or open a .txt, .docx or .vtt file.
  2. 2Add your name to see which tasks are yours.
  3. 3Check the action items, decisions and open questions — open "why" on any row to see the rule that found it.
  4. 4Fix an owner or date, or add a task the rules missed.
  5. 5Download an Excel tracker, Word minutes or a calendar file, or copy the follow-up email.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an AI meeting assistant?

No — deliberately. It uses clear rules to find tasks, owners and deadlines, which means it is instant, free, and your meeting notes never leave your browser. The trade-off is that unusual phrasing can be missed, so every result is editable and you can add tasks by hand before exporting.

Which transcript formats does it read?

Plain "Name: text" notes, timestamped chat exports, Slack-style name-and-time lines, WebVTT files from Zoom, Teams and Google Meet, and Word documents. Speaker names help it assign owners, but it works without them too.

How does it decide who owns a task?

If someone says "I'll do it", it is theirs. If someone is asked by name or @mentioned, it is the person asked. In a two-person conversation, "can you…" goes to the other person. Where nobody is named it is left unassigned rather than guessed.

Can I put the deadlines in my calendar?

Yes. The calendar download is a standard .ics file with one entry per dated task, which imports into Google Calendar, Outlook and Apple Calendar.

Does it work with Japanese meeting notes?

Yes. It recognises requests like 〜お願いします and 〜してください, commitments like 〜します and 〜いたします, and deadlines like 明日まで, 本日中 and 来週金曜日.

Where are my notes stored?

Nowhere. They are processed in this page and forgotten when you leave. The files you download are the only record, and DO101 keeps no copy.
